Welcome to Region 46! We abide by the AYSO philosophies of Balanced Teams, Everyone Plays, Positive Coaching, Open Registration, Good Sportsmanship and Player Development. Our policies and procedures are established along with National AYSO Guidelines to ensure that all children can play soccer in a Fun, Fair and Safe Environment. We enforce the AYSO Kids’ Zone program at our game venues. This means smoking, profanity, and alcohol are prohibited within the vicinity of kids playing soccer. In addition, dogs are not allowed at the school sites due to liability issues. A copy of our region’s Policies and Procedures is available from your child’s coach or division representative. Additional information is located in the parent handbook, also available from your coach or division rep.
Our Board of Directors is working hard to develop programs that meet the needs of players with varying skill levels. A VIP program is provided for players with physical, emotional, medical or other special needs.
Youth coaches and referees play an active role in our region, and community service credit is given for their time and effort. Mentoring programs are provided for the youth volunteers, and Region 46 has a Zero Tolerance policy for those who harass these volunteers.
Coaching and refereeing clinics are held throughout the year so that our volunteers are qualified for their positions. Summer camps are available at local colleges and universities.
In addition to our regular Fall Season, Region 46 hosts a Spring Season. This is a non-competitive season for players in U5-U14. Open registration occurs in December and January with games beginning in March and running through early May.
Our region functions due to the generous monetary donations from our sponsors and time by our volunteers. We are also indebted to the local schools and City of Santa Clarita for the use of fields for practices and games. All board members, coaches, referees, and team parents are non-paid volunteers, and many of us have full time jobs in addition to the volunteer work we do within the region. Our payment is the joy we see in the faces of the kids who play soccer within our region. We are always looking for additional help. If you’d like to become a board member or volunteer in some way, please contact me by email.
Our board meetings are usually on the second Monday of every month. Time and location may vary, so please check the website for current information. These meetings are open to the public, so please feel free to join us. If you have an item to add to the agenda, please send me a request at least five days in advance here. We welcome suggestions and comments.
Please remember we are all here for the kids! Thank you for helping us support our youth!
Sincerely, Dave Chambers
